Why add a cultural tour to your itinerary?
A cultural tour offers the experience of meeting local people in their homes, at their daily activities, enjoying traditional songs and dancing, and sharing a meal. Not only will you involve yourself intimately in the lives of the people of Africa, but you will be supporting them in their efforts to improve their living conditions. The proceeds from cultural tourism go solely to the local people, adding income to those involved and to the community as a whole.
Where do the profits go?
Profits from the Mazembe project are used to:
- support the local primary school, providing new blocks, desks and materials
- create an after-school program giving youth the opportunity to learn various practical skills for future jobs
- support needy children in the village
- build a safe, permanent bridge across the Mazembe River
- develop an adequate supply of clean water.
Cultural tourism is a rewarding experience for everyone involved.
